Cahuita Itineraries
Cahuita area is one of the most beautiful spots, the South Caribbean of Costa Rica. It has a great combination between turquoise sea water, tropical rainforest and one of the most important coral reefs in the country. All these combinations created just a great adventure and vacation.
The Cahuita National Park give you the opportunity to observe the wildlife as sloth, monkeys and reptiles, just by walking in the trail of the forest, another great experience is the snorkel in the clear water of the coast where is located the coral barrier, that has beautiful colorful fishes, if you haven’t seen the marine wildlife this is great start.
Cahuita also has great cuisine, good restaurants with fresh seafood and cultural combination, calypso, adventure activities such as surfing, so, it is a great place.

Day 1:
7 am. Departure from CATIE Turrialba head to South Caribbean (Cahuita), driving time 3 hours.
Visit Cahuita National Park, before to enter to the park we can have some quit snacks, here we can explore a nice forest trail that only the Caribbean can give us, great views from the clear water from the Caribbean Sea, opportunity to spot monkeys, sloths, reptiles and other wildlife, also see this incredible rain forest the guide would give you a rich explanation of the whole area, after the hike enjoyed the beach of the park, (couple hours here).
2 pm. Snorkel activity: This is one of the best ways to explore the coast of Cahuita. The coral reef is beautiful and one of the biggest and the most important aquatic ecosystems.
The combination of colors of this place is amazing, so you have to explore it. Besides is the best season to do snorkel, you can have the opportunity to explore the beautiful water wildlife in nature.
Afternoon: Opportunity to rest at the hotel, it is in front of Playa Negra in Cahuita, enjoy the swimming pool of the hotel.
Activity at night: The restaurant of the hotel has great food where you can try some of the Caribbean cuisine, also the dinner and music in the hotel.
Day 2. This day we have open activities for you. If you would like to have a great adventure in the Caribbean waves, we offer a surfing lesson (price 50$ per person) with the instructors and everything you need to have this safe activity.
